Thanks to the experience gained from previous editions of the educational program Giants of the Lagoon, a scientific article has just been published in collaboration with Wageningen University & Research, a partner in the WaterLANDS project.
The study shows how environmental education helps shape children’s “visions of nature.” From analysis of the workbooks of 120 students, it presents an innovative method to quantitatively measure the impact of outdoor learning on environmental perception. The results highlight that environmental education significantly strengthens pro-environmental attitudes (and the likelihood of acting constructively), especially among children who already express an ecocentric worldview.
