Jane da Mosto together with Gherardo Ortalli, president of the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and professor of Medieval History at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, were invited to the TV program of in-depth historical investigation I Mondi di Ieri, broadcast on Rai Storia on Sunday 31 July 2022, to discuss the past and future fate of the city of Venice while commenting on journalist Indro Montanelli‘s 1969 documentary.
Already at the time, Montanelli’s appeals echoed as a heartfelt alarm about the health and survival of the city, today referred to by Edoardo Camurri as a ‘first example of environmental alarm’, which even then aroused much controversy around the lagoon city’s administration.
The episode (50′, Italian) can be streamed on the Rai Storia channel on RaiPlay platform at this link.
