Sorry, We Are Closed: Empty Venice In The Early Days Of The COVID-19/Coronavirus Precautionary “lockdown”

These photographs by Eleonora Sovrani expose the eternal beauty of the city as well as the emptiness created by the absence of tourists but also by the remarkable reduction in residents in recent years. On the other hand some of the void is slowly filled by nature, which is regenerating, after too long amidst unmanaged polluting activities.

Since Monday 9 March our studio has been closed and we have all been working independently and digitally. Some projects have already been indefinitely postponed and others have germinated in the light of the pandemic and the prospects for radical system change.
